The Mississippi State Bulldogs are a college football team representing the Mississippi State University. They play their football games at Scott Field in the Davis Wade Stadium, which was build way back in 1914. Their playing facility is the second oldest college football stadium. This antique stadium currently holds a whopping 55,082 people. This great teams plays their games wearing uniforms of maroon and white, and has a huge fan following spread out all across the United States Of America!

This team begin with its first head coach in 1985. W.M. Matthews was the very first team coach, and he only lasted a single year. The team only played two games that year, and lost both of them. The following year, 1986, under J.B. Hildebrand the team played four games, and again lost every game they played. After 1902 the team started making great improvements, and have become the great team they are today! This team has rivalries with Ole Miss from the University of Mississippi, Alabama from the University of Alabama Crimson Tide, and the University of Kentucky Wildcats. The Bulldogs has played in 14 bowl games and has won eight of those games. One of their most famous players includes Anthony Dixon, who on November 30, 2009 received the Conerly Trophy as the best football player on a college level in the state. Dixon later went on to play for the San Fransisco 49ers.

This great time made history quite recently in 2003 when they hired Sylvester Croom as the head football coach. This was a big deal, because they were the first team in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) to have an African American coach. Their fans supported their decision, and liked that their team brought such a great light into the school. The teams current coach is Dan Mullen.

Mississippi State Bulldogs have an exciting season ahead of them. Under coach Mullen, Bulldog fans see great things for their team in the near future. There are high hopes that this team playing in Starkville, Mississippi will win their Western Division and go on to conquer all of the teams from the other divisions.
